Hey Little Boy made a winning start for the Willie Mullins yard in the Comeragh Veterinary Maiden Hurdle at Tramore.
The Ruby Walsh-ridden German import had to survive a steward's enquiry before being confirmed the half length victor from High Nellie
"Some people in the Racing Post are involved in him with their friends and he's a horse we got in Germany last season," revealed Mullins.
"I think he will improve as he gets in to softer ground in the winter.
"He's a very lazy horse and only just does enough. I think once he improves his jumping and his racing skills he could turn into a very nice horse."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the final hurdle and the winning post involving Hey Little Boy (GER), ridden by R. Walsh, placed first and High Nellie, ridden by C.A. Landers, placed second, where it appeared that both horses collided after jumping the hurdle.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings' and took no further action.
A. Ring, rider of Cottonvale trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung both ways during this race.
