The Austin Leahy-trained Getoutwhenyoucan bounced back to form to take the P&D Lydon Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.

The Beneficial gelding had been tailed off throughout on his return to action at Kilbeggan last Friday but left that run well behind.

Mark Walsh had the 20/1 shot prominent today and he was in front going out on the final circuit. Stormey tried to sneak through on the inner turning for home but had nowhere to go and couldn't peg back Getoutwhenyoucan in the closing stages as he recorded a three-parts-of-a-length success.

The stewards had a look at the incident turning in but the result stood after the enquiry.

"I'm glad to get it as he's not easily placed and he kept at it well in the finish,” said Leahy.

"He has ability but it was a pleasant surprise and he'll mix it between hurdling and chasing now."

It was a welcome winner for the trainer, his first since last September.
