In-form five-year-old Riven Light could be on a collision course with wondermare Winx in the Cox Plate on October 28.

Willie Mullins' inmate has won three of his last four races in the style of a progressive performer and is now under consideration for the valuable mile-and-a-quarter Group One at Moonee Valley racecourse.

Riven Light would, however, face an almighty foe in Winx, who has won the last two renewals of the Cox Plate and is unbeaten in 19 races.

"Riven Light went on the ground well and just didn't really take to hurdling," Mullins told the Irish Independent.

"He heads to Newmarket ahead of his quarantine before Australia. Before any Cox Plate, there are more realistic aspirations to go for."
