Ken Condon is not concerned about the drop in trip for Romanised in the Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte on Friday.

Last seen finishing second to Masar in the Solario Stakes at Sandown over seven furlongs, the Irish raider reverts to six furlongs for the French Group Two contest.

Highly tried since winning on his debut, Condon is convinced his Holy Roman Emperor colt is up to winning a Group race.

"I've been very happy with him since Sandown," said Condon.

"He's always trained like a very talented colt which is why we've run him in the races we have. The Solario winner (Masar) has since run well in a Group One, so his form stacks up.

"The only time he was a bit below form was on fast ground, so I don't think he'll mind a bit of dig and soft ground will make it more of a test for the others. I'm not worried about the trip, I don't think it's an issue.

"He was well entered up in all the nice races, but this looks a good option."

Five will go to post, with Charlie Hills sending Nebo from his Lambourn base and Harry Dunlop calling on Fighting Irish.

The home team consists of Coeur De Beaute, second to Sound And Silence in a Group Three, and French Pegasus, a three-race maiden who was third in the same race.
