Poormans Hill continued his remarkable climb up the handicap ladder when completing trebles for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Jack Kennedy at Punchestown today, by winning the concluding Toals Football Acca Insurance Handicap Hurdle.

The seven year old joined Elliott following an encouraging fourth placing over fences at the Galway Festival last August and while rated just 88 over fences then, was today winning his sixth race in nine handicap starts for Elliott.

Following today's win, Elliott's assistant Ian Amond said “he was a good buy and he's won six for us now. He's been a star so far and there might be one or two left in him.

“He can mix it between both fences and hurdles and it's great when they can back up like that, and he's done it twice now.”

Poormans Hill's rating over fences has now risen to 121 while today's success was gained from a hurdles mark of 103, which had been set to rise to 113 in future handicaps having won at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

Elliott and Kennedy's previous winners today were with Goodthynemilan and Sir Carno
