This afternoon's National Hunt meeting at Uttoxeter will go ahead as scheduled.
An inspection had been called for 8.30am due to the threat of overnight frost.
While temperatures did dip as low as -3C, officials were happy to give the meeting the all-clear an hour before they were due to inspect.
Frost covers had been down in the vulnerable areas and with forecast temperatures as high as 8C in the offing, the meeting was no longer in doubt.
Uttoxeter's official Twitter account posted: "RACING GOES AHEAD - Inspection brought forward as positive temperatures & frost coming out of ground."
