Internal Transfer justified favouritism on his handicap debut when taking the Follow Limerick Racecourse On Twitter Handicap Hurdle in runaway fashion.

The Kayf Tara gelding joined local trainer Eric McNamara after landing a point-to-point at Kirkistown back in November, and punters latched onto him with a rating of just 92 after finishing second in a Clonmel maiden hurdle last month.

The well-backed 3/1 favourite (5/1 this morning) made virtually all under Ryan Treacy and built up a considerable lead on the final circuit of this 2m5f event.

The seven-year-old was well clear turning into the straight and kept up the gallop to beat Betterthanalright by 20 lengths. Call Of The Loon was another six and a half lengths adrift in third.

Treacy said, "He's a lovely big horse and isn't in the yard that long and he was purchased at the sales (in January for 3,000GBP) recently.

"He'll be plenty fun for the year and Eric has got him where he wants him. He liked that ground and is a big striding horse."
