Sea The Lion could bid to follow up his comeback success at Leopardstown in the Cork Derby on Sunday.

Jarlath Fahey’s charge claimed a fourth career victory on his seasonal reappearance at the Foxrock track and the trainer is keen to aim his charge at this weekend’s €50,000 handicap providing conditions are deemed suitable.

Fahey said: “All is well with him since Leopardstown, he is in good form. If the ground is suitable he will run in the Cork Derby on Sunday.

“Hopefully if he runs well there and comes out of the race well he will go for the Ragusa Handicap at the Curragh, a race he won last year.

“He seems to be a bit buzzier in himself this year, and more in tune with things. When he started racing last year he was coming back from a long break, whereas this year he has just had the normal few months off over the winter.

“His mind seems to be a lot sharper this year and he is more in tune with what’s happening.”
