Former pointer Nick Lost made a winning debut over racecourse fences in the Bet In-Play With The Ladbrokes App Beginners Chase at Punchestown.

"I got half run away with on the way down to the start," admitted jockey Rachael Blackmore afterwards, and favourite Wonderoftheworld would possibly have struggled with the 5/2 victor if he hadn't come a cropper at the third last.

In the end Henry de Bromhead's Nick Lost had twelve lengths in hand over Grand Partner

The Gigginstown House Stud-owned scorer disputed the lead early and he led from the second and made the rest.

Jumping well virtually throughout, Nick Lost had a reduced advantage briefly five out, and he was pushed along when making a slight mistake two out.

Soon ridden clear, the chestnut stayed on strongly up the run-in for a comfortable win.

"The better ground seems to have made a huge difference to him and he was always going to be a chaser," said de Bromhead.

"He won over three miles at Limerick the other day so hopefully he can improve for a trip.

"Off the top of my head there's a two six at Killarney - a winner of one in July so we might look at that. We'll speak to the O'Learys and see."
