Presenting Mahler made every yard to take Sligo's two mile handicap hurdle for John Ryan and Danny Mullins.

Mullins drove her home after the last when pressed by Mr Moondance The eight-year-old mare hit the line half a length up at 3/1.

Mr Moondance went off 5/2 favourite for Mark McNiff and Conor Orr.

“She's a lovely mare. She disappointed in Kilbeggan when she didn't get her own way,” John Ryan said.

“I fancied her today, she won her beginners chase around here. She had a nice mark over hurdles so hopefully he won't be hard on her for that.

“She's a tough honest mare. Her full-brother made €72,000 at the sales, he was bought by Gigginstown at the Derby sale.

“Paddy McKeon is my cousin and my other cousin bred her. Tom (Meagher) has a full brother foal and he's going to do well out of him.

“She'll win again over fences. She's way better over fences and it's a bonus to get another win over hurdles.

“She'll go to Galway for a mares' handicap hurdle.”
