Mick Mulvany would love to see some rain for On The Go Again in the Goffs Platinum Stakes at Cork on Saturday.

The versatile performer is already a Listed winner on the Flat this season at Leopardstown and still appears on the upgrade.

He was seen in action at the Galway Festival where, having agonisingly missed the cut for the Galway Hurdle, he finished third to Top Othe Ra in the Guinness Handicap Hurdle.

“He’s fit and ready to go, we’re hoping for a big run but we’d love a drop more rain for him,” said Mulvany.

“If the ground is on the easier side of good that would be fine, but he’s going there in good form.

“We could have just done with a heavy shower to take the jar out of the ground.

“It’s hard for Cork, they don’t know whether to water or not because the forecast keeps saying it’s going to rain, but it hasn’t done yet.”

He added: “He ran well enough at Galway, he looked like he was going to win but he didn’t jump the last well enough.

“He’s come on for that run I’d say, he’s a big horse and hard to get fit, he’d had a long break before he ran at Down Royal.”

Jessica Harrington’s Pincheck is the closest rival on the figures but has been behind Mulvany’s stable star twice. Harrington also runs Marshall Jennings.

Dermot Weld’s Making Light and Jim Bolger’s Panstarr are others who bring lofty ratings to the contest.

Aidan O’Brien unleashes nicely-bred newcomer At Last in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

The Galileo filly is a half-sister to the top-class Australian performer Zoustar.

In the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden, O’Brien runs Mount Everest. Sixth on debut, the colt is by Galileo and out of Six Perfections and can be expected to take a big step forward.
