Neddyvaughan travelled all over the opposition in the handicap chase at Fairyhouse before delivering under Liam Gilligan.

He eased to the front racing to the last and was driven clear on the run-in to win by five and a half lengths.

The seven-year-old gelding justified strong market support from 4/1 to 11/4 favourite. Coolmill (20/1) and Oighear Dubh (4/1) finished second and third respectively.

“That's great and it's a great bunch of lads that own him,” said trainer Padraig Roche.

“He's a lovely old horse. He runs his heart out, he's honest and he jumps. It's great that he's won.

“We'll keep going once the ground is not bottomless, he'll go on anything else. We'll find another hurdle or chase for him.

“The lads love going racing and they get great enjoyment out of it.

“He's a versatile horse and he's honest.”
