Time For Mabel finished off strongest of all to land the 21-runner apprentice-handicap in Leopardstown.

The mile and a half trip proved right up his street as he took the spoils under Gavin Ryan by three parts of a length.

He made powerful headway between the two pole and the final furlong to close on the leaders.

He sustained her challenge as he swept into the lead in the final 100 yards to win at 8/1. Cache Queen (33/1) filled the runner-up berth, half a length in front of Prize Winner (22/1). Dream Point completed the placings in fourth at 201.

Trainer Edward O’Grady said: “Gavin actually started with me. He’s a neighbour and has gone on to do very well with Jim Bolger.

"He’s ridden the horse before and I’m delighted to have him ride a winner for us.

“Ken McCullagh, who runs the syndicate and lives locally, is here with his dad so it’s great.”
