Gordon Elliott’s Shirocco newcomer Flying Risk ( 5/2 out to 4/1) belied her weakness in the market to win the concluding 4-y-o fillies bumper at Limerick.

She was hard-pressed by the well-backed Majestic Maid (5/1, as big as 33s in the morning) but held on for a neck success under Jamie Codd.

Bellshill’s half-sister Janet’s Charm (11/4 fav) made a reasonable start to her career to finish a further six lengths back in third.

The winning rider Jamie Codd commented afterwards :“She’s a lovely filly and I think the Fogarty family are going to have a lot of fun with her.

“It was a messy race as we didn’t go overly quick, and I was probably in front plenty soon enough. She was good and fit and I wanted to use that.

“It’s wide open here in the straight but she ran as straight as a gun barrel.”
