Half a length and the same split them after an exciting conclusion to the Molson Coors Mares Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick. Star Adventure came out on top for Noel Meade and Sean Flanagan. Castle Canny ran a huge race for a 100/1 chance in second place, whilst Rebel Og couldn’t live up to her 8/13 billing in third position.
"We were disappointed in Killarney when she ran but it was a bit soon after the previous run I think," said Meade.
"I actually bought the one that won in Killarney (Glint In Her Eye) the other day, so she looks kind of reasonably good value now.
"I bred her myself and she is a half sister to Laura Bullion and Union Gap and hopefully there will be a few more winners to come out of that pedigree yet.
"She tough and she stays well - Gold Well makes her that way.
"She worked very well last year and she went and won a bumper early on and then she went and cracked her pelvis and missed a whole lot of time.
"She has won over two and a half and she has won there. That's what we were banking on (her stamina) and the fact Danny (Mullins) kicked on early (on Rebel Og) - I thought he had us now but he (Sean Flanagan) said he knew when he met the rising ground he had her."
The Stewards fined Sarah Dawson, trainer, € 350 for lodging a passport in respect of Heather Blossom, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Heather Blossom in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
Rachael Blackmore, rider of Darrens Diamond trained by Robert Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was never travelling and pulled up.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Darrens Diamond, trained by Robert Murphy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
