The drinks are on Callthebarman who brought up plenty of bets in the Meath Farm Machinery Handicap Hurdle in Navan.

Jonathan Moore soon sent him into the lead and the pair took a length out of the pursuers coming to the second last.

A lovely, nimble jump at the last sealed the deal as both Iamastartoo (in second) and Here For The Craic (in third) made mistakes.

Callthebarman was driven out to score by four and a half lengths. He went off 11/2 favourite having been 12/1 in the morning and 7/1 on opening show.

Iamastartoo finished second at 6/1. Ballydunblaze came through for third at 20/1 with Important Message fourth at 16/1 in this 18-runner handicap.

“He deserved that, he had been running well,” said Gavin Cromwell.

“I got teased into running him back too soon a couple of times but I gave him a chance there on the good ground.

“He'll stay two-and-a-half but I said on a track like this, over two miles, we'd make a bit of use of him.

“He's ground dependent, so we'll see. It's the end of September but Political Policy won in December last year and he's a proper, good-ground horse.”
