Kevin Manning steered his first winner for John McConnell at Dundalk today as the trainer bagged a double with Bellick in the concluding Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap.

The Derby winning jockey was having just his seventh ride for McConnell today and steered Bellick, whom he had previously finished second on twice, to a head win over Pillar

Manning later said “he's done it well and it's good to get his head in front again as he's been second on a few occasions lately.”

McConnell's earlier winner was with the Let's Get Lucky Racing Club owned Rockview Roman which itself was formerly owned by Bellick's owners the Rockview Racing Club.
