The Andrew Kinirons-trained Helen De Pourtales ground out victory in the second division of the seven-furlong handicap at Dundalk.

The Footstepsinthesand filly had been a game winner over a mile at the track last month and again knuckled down well to record back-to-back wins.

Billy Lee was again on board and produced his mount to press the leaders at the furlong pole.

The 4/1 shot got on top close home to record a head victory over Shawaf

Kinirons said:- “We were a little bit worried that the trip might be a bit sharp from that draw but she was very good and Bill got her out.

“She learned a lot from the last day. She’s lightly-raced and was a bit green the last day but we knew she had improved. She was bouncing at home.

“She’s strengthened up a lot from earlier in the year and is starting to fill into her frame.

“We’ll keep coming here for the winter and she’s an exciting filly for us to have. She’s very tough and genuine, and getting her head in front the last day gave her confidence.

“She knows how to battle now as she had never been in a battle until the last day. Hopefully she’ll keep improving.”
