The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Bluebell Stakes saw 15/8 favourite Barrington Court enhance her progressive record on the Flat as Shane Foley brought her through from off the pace to lead over a furlong out.

She only needed to be pushed out to fend off the challenge of Snapraeceps (11/1) by a length and a half, with a further gap of four and a half lengths back to Yaxeni (11/2) in third.

A Listed bumper winner and two-time winner over hurdles, the Mastercraftsman mare made a winning start under Flat rules at Bellewstown in August and had followed that with two runner-up efforts in Stakes company.

Winning trainer Jessica Harrington said: “Soft ground doesn’t seem to worry her whether she goes two miles or a mile and a half. She would probably have enough speed for a mile and a quarter.

“She may come back here for the Finale Stakes (November 7).

“I don’t think she will go back over hurdles as every time she runs she hurts herself.”
