Cian MacRedmond rode his fourth winner in Ireland when triumphing aboard Eglish for Ado McGuinness in the Join Us On Instagram @dundalk_stadium Handicap.

MacRedmond only recently relocated to Ireland after having success in the UK, principally for Declan Carroll, and here he positioned Eglish in mid-division.

Pushed along and making progress two furlongs out, Eglish was ridden to lead a furlong out.

Staying on well in the final furlong she was all out close home to contain the ‘finisher,’ Crystal Dawn by a neck.

There were the same distances then to Never Back Down (McGuinness-trained too) and Fascinating Spirit in third and fourth.

“She's good, tough and hardy and she got down to a winnable mark,” said McGuinness.

“The claim probably made the difference today, taking the 7lb off.

“Cian only started with me two weeks ago. He's come home from England and it's a great way to start.

“I'm delighted for him, he works hard and is a good kid to ride. I think he'll do very well here in the next year of two.

“It's great for Shamrock as well, that's another win on the board for them.”

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Crystal Dawn trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

G.P. Brouder, rider of Fascinating Spirit trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the closing stages of this race.
