Hereford to Inspect

Tuesday's meeting at Hereford will need to pass a 7.30am precautionary inspection due to the threat of frost.

Temperatures are expected to get just below freezing but course officials are pretty confident that the meeting will go ahead.

"It got down to minus two last night and we are forecast the same again tonight but I don't think we would have any problems racing today," clerk of the course Katie Stephens said on Monday morning.

"It is purely precautionary and we are erring on the side of caution really but it is better to be safe than sorry."

Alan King is due to launch his dual bumper winner, Blistering, over hurdles in the two and a half mile novice. Finney is another interesting runner here as is Blistering's stable companion, the winning Irish 'pointer' Penharold, who pulled up on his racecourse bow.
