Sweeps Hill shows star quality

Newcomer Sweeps Hill looks a horse with a big future after producing an impressive display to win the Kilternan Winners' Bumper on his first racecourse start.

The 4-y-o (only 3 1/2) came from New Zealand and looked something special when easily disposing of a decent field in the concluding race at the Leopardstown festival.

Trained by John Kiely for J.P. McManus the winner has been given a generous quote of 20/1 by Cashmans for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham next March.

That race is definitely on the agenda according to Kiely.

Owner J.P. McManus missed the race as he had to leave early in his helicopter due to fading light, but will no doubt be delighted with the performance when he watches the re-run.
