Limerick Gearing Up For Family Day On Sunday

If you’re looking for a family fun day out then look no further than Limerick Racecourse on Sunday 1st April for the Family Fun Day. Our action packed programme of activities has something for everyone. Along with 7 National Hunt races children can enjoy face-painting, pony rides, bouncy castles, rodeo bull, colouring, treasure hunt, games and our new Kiddies zone.

Children dine for FREE if you book the Family Fun Buffet Lunch in the Panoramic Restaurant. Enjoy admission to the races, racecard, reserved table, 2 course buffet lunch, and selection of salads with tea/coffee all for only €40 per person.

We are also running a Colouring competition and the artwork can be downloaded on Prizes include Smyths Toy vouchers and a Party tent and other surprises. The winner must be available to attend the races on the day to claim their prize and see their artwork in the race card so start colouring now.

Closing date is Monday 26th March 2012. Children can also dress up in Fancy Dress on the Day and enter the Fancy Dress competition to win a camping tent. Gates open from 12:30pm so make sure you arrive early to enjoy all that is on offer on the day.

The kid’s entertainment that we have organised for the 1st will be the most exciting yet at Limerick Racecourse and is not to be missed!! Don’t forget this is your chance to see many of your favorite jockeys who no longer ride professionally in aid of back in the saddle charity race, which is sure to be great fun.. "

The Back in the Saddle Charity race will also be on 1st April 2012 to raise money for the Midwest Spina Bifida Charity Association. Each jockey will raise €1,000 to ride in the race with all proceeds going to the charity. Racing greats including Jim Dreaper and Arthur Moore will be involved along with former champion National Hunt jockey Philip Fenton, Turf Club Official Val O’Connell, former Grade 1 winning jockey Paul Hourigan and many more.
