The Eoin Doyle trained Come To The Party defied a 14lbs recent rise, for his Clonmel win, to land the corkracecourse.ie Handicap Hurdle at Cork today.

The son of Taipan made all but needed all of jockey Shay Barry's strength, and bravery, when securing a good jump at the final flight before running out the three and a half lengths winner over Top Madam

Afterwards Doyle stated “Come To The Party is improving away but I thought the penalty he received for his Clonmel win was way too much!

“Shay gave him a great ride and the horse ideally wants three miles. We decided to keep forcing the pace today as all he does is gallops. I think there is a nice chase, racing from a light weight, in him and the Thyestes Chase is a possibility.”
