Colin Tizzard's nippy chaser, a former Champion Bumper winner, finished a fine second to Sprinter Sacre in the Arkle last March and successfully stepped out of novice company at the first attempt by lifting the sportingbet Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter.
Tizzard's son Joe, who rides the horse, told his blog for Wincanton racecourse: "I'm delighted to report that Cue Card is in fantastic form, coming out of his race better than ever.
"His form gets hotter and hotter by the week. He will not run in Saturday's Betfair Chase against Long Run and others instead the Peterborough Chase is looking the likely option."
Marco Botti is looking forward to seeing Melbourne Cup third Jakkalberry shoot for further international honours in this weekend's Japan Cup.
