Officials at Cheltenham have called a second inspection of the cross country course at 10am ahead of racing this afternoon.

While the conventional track is fit to race, the cross country course is reported to be frozen in places.

Clerk of the course Simon Claisse said: "We will have another look at 10am but it is improving.

"It was plus 3C when I came in at 5am this morning and it is forecast to reach 9C by noon, when a band of rain moves in.

"I remain optimistic but it is always tricky to call."

This afternoon's meeting at Bangor goes ahead after the track passed a second inspection.

Clerk of the course Andrew Morris took an initial look at 8am but was able to give the meeting the go-ahead after another check around an hour later.
