Don Cossack puts his reputation on the line against five talented rivals in Sunday's Grade One Navan Novice Hurdle.

Gordon Elliott's five-year-old created quite a stir when winning bumpers at Naas, Navan and Fairyhouse last season and could not have been more impressive in making a winning start to his hurdling career at this track three weeks ago.

With the step up to two and a half miles likely to suit the giant gelding, he is set to be a warm order this weekend, and Elliott admits this race will tell him plenty about Don Cossack's aspirations.

Elliott said: "He's in good form and we've been very happy with him since the last day.

"He did everything right last time and we're going to find out how good he is on Sunday, but I couldn't be happier with him at home.

"The ground will be OK for him."

Also carrying the colours of Gigginstown House Stud is the Mouse Morris-trained Rule The World, who won as he liked over this course and distance last Saturday.
