Downpatrick Chases Cancelled

The two chases at Downpatrick on Thursday have been cancelled as the track is unfit for racing.

One of the hurdle races will now be divided to make a six race card.

The ground at the Co Down venue is currently soft to heavy.

Meanwhile the safety limit has been reduced to 18 for all races at Navan next Saturday while the ground at Leopardstown ahead of the Christmas Festival is currently yielding to soft, soft in places.

Fans of jumps racing have been rejoicing over the past month with the return of some of the stars of the sport to the track and although the action will ramp up another notch in November, there has still been plenty to take in during the first few weeks of the ‘proper’ National Hunt season in the UK.
