Today's meeting at Limerick will go ahead following an early morning inspection, while cross-channel Leicester also goes ahead.

Officials decided to have a precautionary look at Limerick with the forecast of further overnight rain but the meeting received the green light at 8am.

The first on a seven-race jumping card gets underway at 12.35pm, with the feature being the Grade 3 Liberty Insurance Novice Hurdle.

The going remains heavy and there will be fresh ground on both the hurdle and chase tracks today, which is also Ladies Day at Greenmount Park.

There will be an inspection tomorrow morning again at 8am ahead of racing due to an adverse weather forecast.

Racing also continues at Leopardstown where the highlight of the four-day Christmas Festival is the Lexus Chase. Flemenstar once again is taken on by fellow second-season chaser Sir Des Champs while the Paul Nicholls-trained Tidal Bay adds further spice to this three-mile Grade 1.

The seven-race card also includes the Grade 1 Topaz Novice Chase and the Grade 2 woodiesdiy.com Christmas Hurdle.

The going remains soft following just 1mm of rain overnight, and the action at the south Co. Dublin venue gets underway at 12.25pm.

It will be mild and mainly dry today with gusting winds, and the threat of some rain tonight.
