Ayr Goes Ahead

This afternoon's meeting at Ayr goes ahead after the track passed a morning inspection.

Officials had planned to check conditions at 7.30am but they were able to give the thumbs up earlier than that after receiving less rain than expected.

The track tweeted: "Racing goes ahead. Inspection brought forward. 1mm past 24hrs.Rain forecast today so may need to monitor conditions."

However, more rain is forecast at the track and a 7.30am inspection has been called for Thursday's meeting.

Thistlecrack Return Marks Start Of Jumping Season

Fans of jumps racing have been rejoicing over the past month with the return of some of the stars of the sport to the track and although the action will ramp up another notch in November, there has still been plenty to take in during the first few weeks of the ‘proper’ National Hunt season in the UK.
