This afternoon's meeting at Ayr goes ahead after the track passed a morning inspection.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley had planned to check the track at 7.30am but she brought that inspection forward and was able to give the go-ahead.

She tweeted: "Racing goes ahead @ayrracecourse today. 5mm rain past 24hrs. F'cast mild, cloudy, scattered showers. All rail on bends moved out over damage."

There are two Irish trained runners on the card with Jim Dreaper's Radharc Na Mara in the conditionals' handicap chase and the Stuart Crawford-trained newcomer Fine Rightly in the bumper.

Friday's meeting at Lingfield goes ahead after the track passed an 8am inspection.

Saturday's meeting at Newcastle must pass an 8am inspection on Friday if it is to go ahead.
