Grands Crus is likely to have one more outing before the Cheltenham Festival although his March target has yet to be decided.

David Pipe's grey showed no ill effects from a wind operation when he finished third behind Long Run in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

The eight-year-old is now poised to have a prep run for either the Gold Cup or the Ryanair Chase at the Festival.

Pipe told the Telegraph: "I haven't done much with him since, but then I'm sure Long Run and company haven't done much either.

"I thought it was a cracking run from Grands Crus, considering he had undergone a wind operation in the 39 days since his previous run.

"He just got a little tired in the straight. He disappointed in the Paddy Power, and he didn't scope that well afterwards.

"I think we may have one more race before the Festival, though that has yet to be finalised."
