Shake The Bucket produced a bold front-running performance to land the spoils in the Floodlit Friday Nights at Dundalk Handicap.

Niall Madden's charge was recording his fifth win at the track as he stuck on well after making the running in the ten furlong contest.

The Ashkalani gelding pulled his way to the front early under Luke Dempsey but still had plenty left at the business end.

The 10/3 favourite kept on well when asked for a effort inside the final furlong to hold Denny Crane at bay by half a length.

The six-year-old had started his career in point-to-points and a return to the jumping game is on the cards.

“We had no summer with him and just had to keep going during the winter,” said Madden.

“He'll go hurdling during the summer. He's already won a point-to-point and will make a lovely chaser.

“Luke gave him a great ride.”

It was a fifth winner for the 16-year-old Dempsey.
