Fairyhouse likely for William

Trainer Evan Williams still believes William's Wishes is some way short of Grade One standard, despite taking his winning run over fences to five at Sandown on Saturday.

The eight-year-old survived a bad blunder at the second-last before coming back quickly on the bridle and powering up the hill to win impressively.

William's Wishes is entered in the Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot on January 19, but Williams is more likely to send him over to Ireland a day later.

"I'm looking at the Dan Moore Memorial Chase at Fairyhouse on January 20 next," said the Llancarfan handler.

"On Saturday's evidence he's still some way short of top class. It's unbelievable watching him on course because he looks all speed, yet at home he's the slowest thing up the gallops. I couldn't pretend to know where I am with him because he shows so little at home."
