The tweet last Sunday from ColinMotherway‏@motherwayc relayed the news nicely with Rode my 200th point to point winner today in Tinahely. Nice land mark to reach. #happydays.

Just a day after witnessing his former charge, Monbeg Dude hit the headlines in the Coral Welsh National, Donnchadh Doyle supplied Motherway with the key success, on newcomer Kilcullen Article in the Brightwells Bloodstock, Cheltenham 5yo Geldings Maiden.

This son of Definite Article, a half-brother to Paddy Power Chase fifth, In Great Form, got the better of Trillerin Minella, another first-timer, by a length and a half. Trillerin Minella will unlikely remain a maiden for too long and he is closely related to the likes of Remittance Man, Sillars Stalker, Treble Bob and Tumbling Dice.

The 'Farmer' Doyle's certainly exerted a fair influence on this heat as Donnchadh's brother, Sean introduced another good type, like the victor, racing for the Monbeg Syndicate, in The Last Samuri.

This Flemensfirth gelding was very prominent in the betting with Mikey Fogarty up and he had a narrow advantage when falling two out. He's one for the notebook no doubt.

Donnchadh Doyle also landed the opening Casey Enterprises, Gorey 5yo Mares Maiden with Three Oscars (see separate story).

'Bon' O'Neill dominated the rest of the card with a treble, on David Christie's Not Before Eight in the open, on Nick Kiely's Wiseoverbury in a divide of the winners and for his boss Colin Bowe on Indigo Rock in the finale. (EM)
