Saturday's StanJames.com Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock has been reopened until Tuesday after attracting just seven entries.

The Grade Two event, taken by Celestial Halo last year and by such horses as Mysilv, Rooster Booster and Inglis Drever in the past, has been touted as the likely comeback outing for 2011 Champion Hurdle runner-up Peddlers Cross.

Trainer Donald McCain has also handed Peddlers Cross an alternative engagement in the Keltbray Holloway's Hurdle at Haydock, where Alan King's Christmas Hurdle runner-up Raya Star is also entered.

Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup entries Katenko and Bold Sir Brian figure among the entries for the Peter Marsh Chase on the same card at the Lancashire track.

The former, trained by Venetia Williams, is on an upward curve after he bolted up at Sandown just over a week ago, with his trainer sticking in long-absent Summery Justice as back-up.

Bold Sir Brian also won at Sandown this season, in last month's Future Stars Chase, and his trainer Lucinda Russell has another interesting entry in the race with grey dual course winner Silver By Nature, who has been off the track since finishing 12th in the 2011 Grand National.
