This afternoon's interesting card at Newbury will go ahead as scheduled after the course passed a 9am inspection.

Frost covers had been deployed over the racing line on both courses and they have done their job admirably.

Clerk of the course Richard Osgood said: "We're just starting to take the covers off and there is no problem with the ground underneath.

"It got down to around minus 3C overnight, but the covers have done their job and we're looking forward to a good day's racing."

Thurles soft to heavy

Ahead of tomorrow's big meeting at Thurles it's soft to heavy on both tracks (4.8mm of rain overnight).
