Goffs graduate Hurricane Fly landed his third successive Grade 1 Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown yesterday afternoon for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.

The fourteen-time Grade 1 hurdle winner went clear of his rivals entering the straight to record a comfortable five length victory from Thousand Stars in second with Binocular a nose behind in third, and is now quoted at 11/4 for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Hurricane Fly was sold as a yearling at Goffs by the Irish National Stud to R. Teman and J.L. Pelleton for €65,000.

The next sale at Goffs is the February Sale from 13th to 14th February which features yearlings, older horses and breeding stock under both codes.

Among the many highlights of the National Hunt prospects on offer are a sister to the best chaser in a long time in Sprinter Sacre (Lot 25) as well as a brother to Grade 1 performer Newbay Prop (Lot 27).
