Goodwood a possibility for Kaar

A half-brother to last year's top two-year-old and bred in County Kilkenny by BEC Bloodstock, Estidhkaar, runaway winner of the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket's July Festival, has been given the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes as an end-of-season target.

Richard Hannon's Dark Angel colt justified favouritism with some authority in the Group Two and earned himself a rating of 113 in the process.

While Goodwood could be on his agenda, the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster may be the route he goes down.

Owner Hamdan Al Maktoum's racing manager Angus Gold told At The Races: "I've only spoken to Richard briefly and he said Goodwood could be a possibility.

"If we think he's good enough to run in the Dewhurst, though, then we'll work backwards from there. He'll only have a few more races this year.

"I would guess that he'll be in the Goodwood race but we may wait for something like the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster to see whether he is good enough to run in the Group One."
