Aidan O'Brien has heaped praise on Taghrooda after John Gosden's inmate created history at Ascot last weekend.

Having won the Investec Oaks in June the daughter of the brilliant Sea The Stars maintained her unbeaten record in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

In doing so she beat the older colts, becoming the first three-year-old filly to do so since Pawneese in 1976.

O'Brien ran three against Taghrooda at Epsom, including Irish Guineas winner Marvellous, and at Ascot his Breeders' Cup Turf winner Magician was well beaten, albeit unsuited by the rain which fell on Friday.

"You'd have to be very impressed with Taghrooda - a three-year-old filly. She did it well and, as I said, you'd have to be very impressed," said the Ballydoyle handler
