FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - A first track outing and a first over hurdles for Polla Milano, as she begins for trainer/rider Liz Lalor. The Milan mare could run better than her likely starting price, after winning her point-to-point last month for owner Vincent Carroll. Three-horse handler Carroll, based in Clonmel, sent Polla Milano out to score at Boulta, and the now six-year-old has the appearance of being a progressive type. However as regards a possible wager it’s FANGIO DE VASSY that’s suggested ahead of Gelee Blanche and Song Of Earth. An embryonic chasing type Fangio De Vassy impressed when winning a point-to-point in the hands of Derek O’Connor. He was under Robert Tyner’s supervision then, and has since made a pleasing start for current connections at Leopardstown. There’s surely more to come, against lesser opposition now.
