The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one furlong from home involving Independence Day, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed fourth, Munshid, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fifth and Tonkinese (GB), ridden by James Doyle, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action. C.D. Hayes, rider of Munshid trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount suffered interference one furlong from home. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Tribal Beat, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
