The Stewards informed P.J. Rothwell, trainer, of Mariatallchief that a repeat of this horse's behaviour at the start would render it liable to suspension in future. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Theatre Mole, trained by Colin Bowe, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have been struck-into, to be missing a left fore shoe and very lame post race. M.P. Walsh, rider of Theatre Mole trained by Colin Bowe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action and pulled up. J.S. McGarvey, rider of Fair Ethel, trained by J.G.Cosgrave, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost its action and pulled up in the straight. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Fair Ethel trained by J.G.Cosgrave was lame post race.
