The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Dark Alliance, ridden by R.A. Smithers, placed first and Stamp Of Authority, ridden by A.J. Breslin, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.A.Smithers was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, severely cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. C.J. McGovern, rider of Zylan trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in running.
