The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the final fence involving Mister First (FR), ridden by B.R. Dalton, placed second and More Madness, ridden by R.P. Treacy, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings, however they were of the opinion that R.P. Treacy was in breach of Rule 214,having ridden carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for three race days. Mr. Michael Murphy, Acting Steward absented himself from this enquiry.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards rated 0-123 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Riders - Confined to Professional under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances (which are not cumulative, up to and including 3rd March) who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed 2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed.
