The very consistant Settigano (backed from 14/1 to 10/1 in the morning) made up for his defeat by Jumbajukiba in this race 12 months ago. Racing off a 20LB higher mark this time round he was ridden close to the pace and travelled well throughout.

He got first run on the favourite Zero Tolerance which had to switch inside the final furlong and ran on strongly in the closing stages.

Zero Tolerance was always in the front rank, but appeared held in fourth until entering the final furlong and it was only when he saw daylight that he really picked up.

Ridge Boy has found a new lease of life since switching stables and having made the running kept going well to the line once headed by the winner.

Slam Dunk was also on the pace throughout and will continue to pay his way in this grade.

This race was filled with horses likely to contest handicaps at next month's Galway festival and a couple to look out for are Ahoy (not clearest of passages)and Celtic Dane (got going too late having met interference halfway).

Akua'Ba was a non-runner off feed.
