The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Aared, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, Los Barbados, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed fourth and Morning Mix, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fifth, where it appeared interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Aared had caused interference and in doing so had improved his finishing position in relation to Los Barbados. The Stewards therfore reversed the placings of the third and fourth placed horses and took no further action. The result now reads as follows; First Sandro Botticelle, Second Time To Respond, Third Los Barbados, Fourth Aared, Fifth Morning Mix.
