LAGGAN LASS boasted probably the best hunter chase form in this modest race but recorded a hollow victory as MIDNIGHT RUN held a clear advantage and looked sure to win when breaking down badly before two out.

The race only concerned the pair from over half a mile out although the very tired winner, blinkered for the first time, needed to be kept right up to her work on the run-in as OUR FELLA stayed on doggedly.

DROIM TOLL was never involved but kept on past beaten horses to take third in the closing stages. ITS ALL ABOUT LUCK and MILL ROW lost touch with the leading pair from three out.

The third last was omitted on both circuits having been damaged in the previous race.
