Noel Meade's filly, held up in the early stages, moved into contention three out. She was ridden in third before the last but found another gear on the run-in.

She looked like getting her head in front but the winner refused to let her past.

C'est Ca (2/1 to 5/2 in morning and out to 7/2 on course) had proved very weak in the betting but defied the lack of market confidence.

He tracked the leaders throughout before launching his effort running to the last. He is sure to have played a big part but for the stumble.

The money had come for C'est Ca's stable-mate Sesenta (6/1 to 4/1 in morning and 7/2 on course).

She improved to the heels of the leaders after four out but was ridden approaching the next and was soon done with.

Glenstal Abbey, a moderate sixth two out, stayed on without looking a threat while Bouchard, a close second running to two out, weakened before the last.
