Quintana had taken over the lead from Made In Taipan around halfway. He was headed by Dreamy Gent before the straight and was soon beaten before staying on again before the last.

Dreamy Gent stumbled when headed by Jered two out and was soon done with while Lyceum was ridden and beaten before the straight.
